“The global head of the healthcare division of communications giant Ketchum has resigned.

Amanda Sefton is to leave later this month, after just over a year in the role. She has resigned to pursue ‘a passion project’ in the wine trade, Ketchum said.

Until a replacement is found, Ketchum’s healthcare division will be run by Washington DC-based Lorraine Thelian, senior partner and vice chairman, supported by Greg Dauphin, marketing and integration manager on new business, the agency told PMLiVE.

“We’re very sorry to see Amanda go but we’re excited for her.  We wish Amanda all the best and would like to thank her for the contributions she has made to our global work,” the agency said in a statement

Meanwhile, six members of the UK healthcare practice are facing redundancy.

“We are consulting with six employees about a new staffing structure that better meets our client needs and is less top heavy,” said a Ketchum spokesperson.”
