The company aims to change the landscape of the healthcare communications industry
Today sees the launch of Ad Ventures – a service that is the first business of its kind in the healthcare communications space. The service – the brainchild of a small cluster of UK-based entrepreneurs – aims to break the mould by offering a service for start-up agencies that supports them from the seed of an idea to soaring success, removing some of the major risks of going it alone.
Ad Ventures work by physically operating inside a new start-up business, fulfilling key functions like setting up processes, IT, finance, legal, HR, branding, marketing as well as providing consultancy on pitching to clients, creative direction, medical writing and design, strategy, and the development of a forward-thinking, progressive and diverse company culture.
This all‑in‑one agency support model has never before been seen in the healthcare arena, making this an industry first.
The premise of Ad Ventures is for the founders to invest time, energy, skills, experience, connections and resources into talented entrepreneurs who’re looking to build their own healthcare advertising, PR, or med comms agency.
Shaheed Peera, director and co-founder of the company, said: “We’ve built the Ad Ventures service to instil confidence, inspiration, and to provide the tools and resources to empower entrepreneurs to drive change in a traditionally old school industry. We’re here to mix it up and pave the way for a brighter future for healthcare communications.”
Carl Owen, serial agency entrepreneur and one of the founding members of the innovative service, said: “I myself started an agency as a one-man band, and I can tell you, the fear was real. I had a daughter and a pregnant wife at the time, so deciding to make the jump felt risky. I was driven to go for it by a deep sense of believing that I could create an exceptionally positive, forward-thinking culture and be able to provide the conditions for medical writing jobs that just didn’t exist at the time.
“Starting a company is terrifying, but it doesn’t have to be. With the right support, anything is possible. I went from a lone ranger to running a seven-figure business in just three years, and I am passionate about helping others to reach their own goals and to find their own purpose.”
The Ad Ventures team are currently accepting investment applications for the service, which is initially available to just 5 UK-based entrepreneurs throughout 2021.
